He serves on the boards of the Greater Downtown Council, Entrepreneur Fund, Northspan Group, and 1200 Fund, and has led on many boards and commissions, including Duluth's Earned Sick & Safe Time Task Force.
In his day job, Arik works to bring family-sustaining jobs to northeast Minnesota and tackles regional challenges such as housing, workforce development, and a more equitable economy. He's well-connected in many of the area's most pressing conversations and has the experience to turn progressive ideas into positive results within the political systems.
Arik has served on the Duluth City Council since 2018, where he has championed child care, creating economic opportunities for all, funding the community crisis response program, building more transparent government, and working across differences to find common ground. Arik will hit the ground running in St. Paul and use his skills to win more housing, high paying jobs, mental health resources, climate solutions, education funding, and economic opportunity for Duluth.
